Could Our Politics Be Even More Childish?

Turn on the television, listen to the radio, or take a stroll through the internet. Democrats and their media confederates are busy dishing out the nonsense in helpings large enough to choke a giant. Either they are intentionally trying to deceive, or they are extraordinarily puerile. Or both.

There are no other possibilities.

To listen to the Democrats as they go begging for votes, to consume the tripe that their helpers in the press are putting out, one would think the Republicans are fascist white supremacists who will kill democracy while setting up themselves in a permanent position of unchallengeable power.

Says Keisha Lance Bottoms, a presidential senior adviser and former Atlanta mayor: “This MAGA Republican agenda is an effort to disrupt our democracy. So, whether it be through November and beyond November, I think it will always be important to call out any effort there is to destroy – essentially, destroy the United States of America.”

The president himself said over the summer that “those of you who love this country, Democrats, independents, mainstream Republicans, we must be stronger, more determined and more committed to saving America than the MAGA Republicans are to destroying America.”

Last week, Joe Biden’s former boss urged voters “to elect good people up and down the ballot,” because “across the country, some of the folks who tried to undermine our democracy are running for offices that will oversee the next election. And if they win, there’s no telling what might happen.”

Within the press, the demise of our political system is a talking point that must be repeated. Jane Pauley, a longtime media operative for the Democratic Party, has tried to convince voters “the very future of our democracy” is in the balance in next week’s elections. Former Washington Post columnist Margaret Sullivan wrote last spring that “democracy is at stake” because the Republicans will lead a coup in 2024 to ensure the GOP presidential nominee is declared the winner of that election.

More recently, MSNBC political analyst and one-time New York Times columnist Anand Giridharadas put the left’s madness on full display. He has decided that the midterms are “a contest between part of the country that believes in continued and expanded liberal democracy, effort to pursue a more perfect union, and a part of the country that is now attracted to the idea of fascism in the United States.”

And of course the New York Times can’t help itself. It’s screaming that “many voters” are “frustrated and resigned” because they have “fears” over the “fate of democracy.” If they do, it’s because the media, in their constant campaigning for Democrats, have unleashed the torrent of lies.

In contrast to the left’s campaign of disinformation, we present some facts:

  • Fascists don’t cut taxes, deregulate, and shrink government. Republicans, even “MAGA Republicans,” run on those issues, and are devoted to the principles, even if too often the policy agenda fails (because of Democratic and media opposition).
  • Fascists are socialists, and it’s the Democrats who are wed to socialist policies. They constantly agitate for higher taxes, more government control of the means of production, ever-deeper government intrusion into private affairs, and incontestable political power. They don’t want voters to know that fascism’s father Benito Mussolini said that “socialism is in my blood,” or that the Nazis were national socialists.
  • Politicians and media figures hungry for raw power will call those who question an election that they won “deniers” while themselves denying that they did exactly that in previous elections.
  • A party that wishes to destroy America would, as Walter Russel Mead wrote a month after Donald Trump took office, limit fracking as much as possible, block oil and gas pipelines, and try to tamp down tensions with Russia’s ally Iran. The GOP has done none of that. The Democrats are guilty of all three.
  • A party that would abolish democracy would crush dissenting voices and opinions, and constantly smear its opponents – which is what the Democrats have done. (And yet again we have to reiterate that the U.S. is not a democracy. That is an infantile construction used to deceive. We are a republic.)
  • White supremacists don’t appoint minorities to their Cabinet. Trump had one black Cabinet member, two Asians and one Native American. George Bush had four black Americans in his Cabinet. Neither do white supremacists brag that during their administration, black unemployment reached a record low. Trump did.

Democrats and the media are aware of these facts, yet they continue to mislead the country. It’s like watching a child continue to lie even when he knows everyone knows he’s lying. They are doing their best to gaslight an entire nation, make it believe things that aren’t true. The culprits are also projecting, ascribing to the political opposition the very offenses and corruption they are guilty of.

We’re aware that most reading this editorial are aware of what we’re saying. So we strongly suggest that those who want to make a difference next Tuesday pass this editorial on to friends who are straddling the fence, to the independents who haven’t decided, and to those on the left who are giving their allegiance second thoughts due to the Democrats radicalism. It might make a difference.
