President Donald Trump launched a furious attack on Democrats, accusing them of trying to intimidate the Supreme Court as it considers the legality of his executive order restricting birthright citizenship.
“The radical Left sleazeBags... are playing the ref with regard to the United States Supreme Court,” Trump wrote on Truth Social after returning from the Middle East. “They lost the election in a landslide... They are stone cold crazy!”
Trump added Friday morning: “The Supreme Court is being played by the radical Left losers. Their only hope is the intimidation of the court."
His remarks come after justices heard arguments over whether lower courts can block his Jan. 20 executive order denying citizenship to children born to undocumented or temporary immigrants. Nationwide injunctions have kept the policy from taking effect.
Solicitor General D. John Sauer said judges have issued 40 such injunctions since Trump began his second term.
