Nation's Priorities And Direction Of Country

Coronavirus is the most important issue confronting the country according to 27% of Americans, followed by the economy at 20% and immigration at 20%.  The results are from the latest IBD/TIPP Poll of over 1,300 Americans completed in late July. IBD/TIPP asked Americans, "What is the most important issue facing the country today?"

Health care and climate change received 8% each. Six percent mentioned racial justice, and another six percent said crime.

Homelessness got 5%, while home affordability was mentioned by 3%.

The uncertainty surrounding coronavirus Delta and Lambda variants takes center stage, forcing a nation about to emerge from pandemic-induced restrictions to take a step back, delaying the return to normalcy.
