Taiwan Scrambles Jets After 27 Chinese Planes Enter Its Buffer Zone

According to Taiwan's Defense Ministry, Sunday's incursion included 18 fighter jets, five H-6 bombers, and a Y-20 aerial refueling aircraft.

The Chinese aircraft flew into Taiwan's air defense identification zone near the southern part of the island and out into the Pacific Ocean before returning to China.

China's air force mission toward Taiwan came as Chinese President Xi Jinping met with officers at a military conference. He called for military talent cultivation to support and strengthen the armed forces.
