An apparent lightning strike at an Ohio prison sent 16 incarcerated people to an outside hospital for medical treatment, according to the report.
The incident occurred Tuesday evening at Grafton Correctional Institution in Lorain County as inmates were returning from their evening meal.
The report said all 16 individuals were transported to a hospital, with one person requiring transportation by medical helicopter.
Officials have not disclosed the nature or severity of the injuries or confirmed whether the individuals were directly struck by lightning or were hurt by its effects.
Authorities are continuing to assess the situation and monitor those who were hospitalized.
