Anhydrous ammonia is commonly used as a fertilizer but can cause severe burns when inhaled or touched.
The Weatherford incident follows a similar ammonia leak last week in Mississippi that also forced residents to flee. Weatherford, a city of about 12,000 people, sits roughly 70 miles west of Oklahoma City.
