Apple Faces Tariff Threat As Trump Demands U.S. Production

President Trump on Friday demanded Apple manufacture iPhones in the United States or face a 25% tariff. In a Truth Social post, Trump said he warned CEO Tim Cook that iPhones sold in the U.S. must be “built in the United States, not India,” or Apple would pay.

The threat follows Apple’s move to shift some production to India, with Cook recently telling investors most U.S.-sold iPhones will soon be India-made. Trump previously expressed frustration during meetings with Cook in the Middle East and at the White House this week. Apple has not commented on the president’s new threat.
