Bannon Says Musk 'Crossed The Rubicon' With Backing Trump Impeachment Call

Former Trump strategist Steve Bannon

Former Trump strategist Steve Bannon says Elon Musk has reached a point of no return after calling for Donald Trump’s impeachment and invoking the Epstein files.

Speaking to NPR’s Morning Edition, Bannon said, “There’s no going back,” accusing Musk of launching a direct attack on Trump’s most critical legislative agenda.

Bannon linked the rift to Trump’s decision not to extend Musk’s White House advisory role, limited to 130 days under federal rules. He also called Musk a “national security issue,” citing alleged drug use and again suggesting Musk was an “illegal alien,” a claim long debunked by PolitiFact and others.

Bannon said Musk’s behavior, opposing the president’s flagship bill, calling for Trump’s removal, and proposing JD Vance as a replacement, has irreparably damaged their relationship. “He crossed the Rubicon,” Bannon said. “This is so outrageous. There’s no going back.”
