President Donald Trump has ordered an investigation into whether aides to former President Joe Biden unlawfully concealed his mental decline and misused an autopen to sign key policy documents.
In a White House memo released Wednesday, Trump directed his counsel and the attorney general to probe if Biden’s staff "conspired to deceive the public" and unconstitutionally exercised presidential powers.
Let me be clear: I made the decisions during my presidency. I made the decisions about the pardons, executive orders, legislation and proclamations. Any suggestion that I didn’t is ridiculous and false.

The inquiry includes examining clemency grants, executive orders, and pardons signed by autopen during Biden’s term.
Biden, 82, who stepped aside from the 2024 race last year following concerns about his health and cognitive abilities, dismissed the allegations. “I made the decisions during my presidency,” he said in a statement. “Any suggestion that I didn’t is ridiculous and false.”
Biden’s office said the use of an autopen was a lawful practice. Trump’s move comes after Biden revealed he has metastatic prostate cancer and amid renewed scrutiny of his fitness during his time in office.
