President Donald Trump demanded on Truth Social that Congress deliver his “One Big Beautiful Bill” to his desk by July 4, calling it a “wonderful celebration” for the country. The sweeping legislation includes tax cuts for workers and seniors, increased military funding, and border security enhancements.

“We are on the precipice of delivering massive general tax cuts… and getting money back to American families,” Trump wrote Friday. He urged the House and Senate to act swiftly, warning that Democrats seek a 68% tax increase.
While the bill has passed the House, Senate Republicans remain divided. Trump later told reporters the July 4 deadline “is not the end all,” but said momentum is critical. GOP Sen. Ron Johnson of Wisconsin, who has expressed reservations, was singled out by Trump—half in jest—for needing more time.
.@POTUS: The One Big Beautiful Bill is "a massive tax cut. If it's not approved, your taxes will go up by 68%... The Democrats won't approve it only because, politically, it's so good for the Republicans... But think of what they're not approving. They're not approving border… pic.twitter.com/oJDpuGzg0z

Despite possible revisions, Trump emphasized party unity and urgency: “Every Republican senator is committed.”
