Former President Bill Clinton is set to testify Friday before the House Oversight Committee as part of its investigation into convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein, according to CBS News. The closed-door deposition in New York marks the first time a former US president has been compelled to testify under subpoena.
The appearance follows a bipartisan committee vote threatening criminal contempt after Clinton and Hillary Clinton resisted testifying. Hillary Clinton sat for hours of questioning a day earlier, with Republicans saying she frequently referred investigators to her husband.

Clinton has acknowledged limited contact with Epstein years ago but has denied any wrongdoing or knowledge of Epstein’s crimes. He also denied visiting Epstein’s private island.
Committee Chairman James Comer called the testimony a major step in accountability. Democrats have since urged the panel to seek testimony from President Donald Trump, who has denied misconduct.
