In response to President Trump’s recent 34% tariffs on Chinese goods, China announced it will impose a reciprocal 34% tariff on all US imports starting April 10. The Chinese government criticized the US tariffs, calling them unilateral and a violation of international trade rules.

With these new measures, Chinese goods entering the U.S. will face tariffs exceeding 54%. China’s retaliation includes additional export controls on key American firms and rare-earth minerals, marking a significant escalation in the trade war between the two nations. On Truth Social, Trump responded, stating, "China played it wrong. They panicked. The one thing they cannot afford to do." This latest development could significantly impact US-China relations, reshaping trade dynamics after decades of economic interdependence.
