China’s major aerospace firms are stepping up efforts to expand their global arms sales, using high-profile international air shows as key platforms, according to reporting from the South China Morning Post.
At this year’s Dubai Airshow, around 80 Chinese companies — including state-backed giant Catic — showcased advanced fighter jets, drones, helicopters, and training aircraft. The J-10CE, J-35A, Wing Loong drone series, and L-15 trainer were among the headline displays.

The Wing Loong combat drones have already been exported to several Middle Eastern countries, and interest in Chinese defense systems has grown since Pakistan’s Chinese-made J-10C shot down an Indian Rafale in May.
The #Dubai #Airshow 2025 opened on Nov 17, with Chinese aircraft making a strong appearance, showcasing a variety of technologies.

Unlike past years, China did not send a military aerobatics team, but the UAE’s Fursan Al Emarat performed with its newly purchased L-15 jets.
China’s presence at air shows in Dubai, Abu Dhabi, Paris, and Riyadh underscores its broader strategy to challenge Western defense suppliers.
