China-Russia Axis Imperils Taiwan And Ukraine

Technically, Russia is not part of the Winter Games 2022 in Beijing. The World Anti-Doping Agency banned the country in 2019 from taking part in the Olympic Games for its state-sponsored doping program. But, Russian President Vladimir Putin attended the Beijing Winter Games opening ceremony as a special guest of the Chinese President Xi Jinping.

That, in a nutshell, presents the current world dynamic.

Since the Cold War era, the People's Republic of China and the Russian Federation have been allies. The respective challenges being faced by the two countries are cementing their relationship further. But, the strengthened strategic alliance between the two Red States threatens to upset the balance of power.

The world's capitals keenly watched the bilateral summit between the heads of state, the only one to take place during the ongoing Winter Games 2022. As expected, both countries said that they would work together to fight "Western aggression."

President Putin said, "Russia sees in China the most important strategic partner and a like-minded friend, and hails the Russia-China relationship as an example for international relations in the 21st century."
