Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky is facing intense pressure to dismiss his powerful chief of staff, Andriy Yermak, after a major corruption scandal involving a golden toilet triggered public outrage.
Ukraine’s National Anti-Corruption Bureau (NABU) says £76 million was siphoned from the country’s energy sector by business leaders and officials.

While Yermak is not accused of profiting, he is suspected of suppressing investigations and appears linked to anonymous figures in wiretaps, according to opposition lawmakers.
The scandal centers on Timur Mindich, Zelensky’s longtime business partner and co-owner of Kvartal 95, who fled Ukraine before NABU raided his home and discovered the now-infamous golden toilet.
Ukrainian MP Zheleznyak claims that Andriy Yermak, head of the President’s Office, is the person referred to as “Ali-Baba” on the Mindich tapes.

Two ministers resigned last week, and critics argue Yermak should follow due to his growing control over government functions during wartime.
The controversy threatens Kyiv’s credibility as it seeks billions in Western financial aid and tries to reassure allies amid continued Russian attacks.
