Cracker Barrel Restores Old Logo After Trump Weighs In

Cracker Barrel is scrapping its new minimalist logo after days of backlash, capped by President Donald Trump’s public criticism.

“We thank our guests for sharing your voices… our new logo is going away and our ‘Old Timer’ will remain,” the company said in a statement, acknowledging it had misjudged loyal customers’ attachment to its iconic branding.

The 56-year-old chain faced a social media firestorm when it replaced its classic barrel-and-figure design. Shares dropped more than 12% before rebounding 3% after the reversal was announced, CNN reported.

Trump congratulated the company for listening to its customers, calling the decision a “great opportunity” to win back trust. A deputy White House chief of staff confirmed that Cracker Barrel personally thanked the president for weighing in.

The controversy is part of a broader $700 million makeover plan for the struggling restaurant chain, which still seeks to modernize while preserving its roots.
