Disney’s popular channels — including ESPN, ABC, and FX — went dark on YouTube TV after contract negotiations between Google and Disney collapsed Thursday night.
YouTube TV said it had made its “best efforts” to reach a fair deal but refused Disney’s “costly” terms, arguing they would raise prices and limit choices for subscribers.

Disney, meanwhile, accused Google of using its $3 trillion market power to “undercut industry-standard terms” and deny viewers access to premium content, including this weekend’s NFL, NBA, and college football games. The company said it remains open to a quick resolution.
Members, when we renew our contracts with network partners, we advocate for fair pricing to offer you the best TV experience. Our contract with Disney has reached its renewal date, and we'll not agree to terms that disadvantage our members while benefiting Disney’s TV products.

YouTube TV pledged to offer a $20 credit if Disney’s programming remains unavailable for long and said the blackout unfairly benefits Disney’s own streaming services like Hulu + Live TV.
This marks YouTube TV’s second carriage dispute this month, following a similar fallout with TelevisaUnivision over contract pricing.
