The United States successfully rescued a downed airman in Iran after a high-risk operation, even as analysts highlighted mixed outcomes from the incident, reported by Chinese experts cited in international coverage.
President Donald Trump described the mission as a “daring” success, confirming the rescued crew member was safe despite injuries.
The airman survived more than 24 hours in hostile terrain before being located and extracted by U.S. special forces. Intelligence support and diversion tactics were used to mislead Iranian forces during the operation. The pilot had been rescued earlier.

However, the report said Iran’s ability to shoot down a U.S. F-15E marked a significant moment, boosting its morale and demonstrating that its air defenses remain operational despite sustained attacks.
Analysts noted that while the U.S. showcased advanced rescue capabilities, Iran also proved it remains a credible military threat in the ongoing conflict.
