Counter Terrorism Policing arrested a 27-year-old dual British-Iranian national in Westminster, London, on Thursday in connection with an investigation into an alleged bomb plot near RAF Fairford in Gloucestershire.
Five British men in their 20s were previously arrested Sunday near the air base on suspicion of explosives and terrorism offences. Police also questioned two other British men, both aged 26, under caution as part of the investigation. Authorities have searched two properties in the Gloucestershire area.
Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has claimed that Israel warned Britain about a possible Iranian-sponsored attack before the arrests, although the allegation remains part of the broader investigation.
Six individuals are currently linked to the alleged plot. Police have not announced charges against the suspects, and the investigation into the circumstances and possible motive remains ongoing.
