Energy Secretary of the U.S. Chris Wright is set to embark on a nearly two-week tour of Saudi Arabia, Qatar, and the United Arab Emirates starting Wednesday, sources told Reuters, and as confirmed by Energy Chief Chris Wright. The visit aims to lay the groundwork for President Donald Trump's upcoming trip to the region in mid-May.

The tour comes at a crucial time, following Trump's announcement on Monday of direct U.S.-Iran talks concerning Tehran's nuclear program. Additionally, global oil prices have hit a near four-year low, driven by concerns over Trump's new tariffs.
