The European Union will unveil a new sanctions package against Russia next month, EU foreign policy chief Kaja Kallas announced. She said the bloc would continue targeting Moscow’s war economy and warned that Vladimir Putin “cannot be trusted to honor any promise or commitment.”
Kallas spoke after a virtual European Council summit on Ukraine, which followed a high-level meeting in Washington between Ukrainian and EU leaders and U.S. President Donald Trump, the Guardian reported.

She added that Ukraine’s security and stronger Russia sanctions will top the agenda at upcoming meetings of EU foreign and defense ministers, stressing the need for credible guarantees to deter further Russian aggression.
