A deadly explosion at a Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department training facility killed at least three people Friday morning, according to U.S. Attorney General Pam Bondi.

The blast occurred around 7:30 a.m. at the Biscailuz Training Center, located six miles east of downtown LA. The site houses special enforcement units and the department’s bomb squad. Bondi confirmed that federal agents, including those from the FBI and ATF, are on scene and assisting local authorities.
The incident is believed to be accidental but remains under investigation. A senior law enforcement source told CNN it is unclear whether the explosion occurred during training or while handling evidence.

Los Angeles Fire Department arson investigators and LAPD bomb squad officers are inspecting the area for potential secondary hazards.
“This is a horrific incident,” Bondi posted on X, asking Americans to pray for the fallen deputies’ families. LA officials expressed support and condolences as the investigation continues.
