An explosion rocked the US Steel Clairton Coke Works near Pittsburgh on Monday, trapping people under rubble and prompting an urgent rescue operation, officials said. The blast occurred around 10:51 a.m., sparking a fire at the massive coking plant along the Monongahela River.
Allegheny County Emergency Services confirmed five people have been transported for treatment, but no fatalities have been reported. The scene remains active as emergency crews work to free those trapped.
