Pakistan’s Defense Minister Khawaja Asif alleged that the Taliban government demanded 10 billion rupees ($35 million) to relocate Tehrik-i-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) militants. Asif said Islamabad refused the offer, citing lack of guarantees that the militants would not return.
Following recent attacks in Pakistan’s Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province that killed 12 soldiers, including senior officers, Asif warned that Pakistan’s patience “has reached its limit.”
He said a delegation would soon visit Kabul to deliver a stern warning against harboring terrorists. Kabul denies aiding the TTP and insists Afghan soil will not be used for cross-border attacks.
