The FBI carried out a court-approved search at the Virginia home of former National Security Adviser John Bolton as part of a national security probe, CNN reported.
Agents were seen entering the residence and bringing in bags, though it is unclear what they sought. Bolton, who was fired by President Donald Trump in 2019, said he was unaware of the search and is seeking details.

According to a source familiar with the investigation, the probe concerns the possible retention of classified material. Bolton previously faced scrutiny over his 2020 memoir, which the Justice Department under President Joe Biden declined to pursue. Trump has long targeted Bolton, calling him a “fired loser,” and revoked his Secret Service protection in January.
