Rob Reiner, the influential actor, director, and producer behind some of Hollywood’s most enduring films, was found dead alongside his wife, Michele, at their Los Angeles home on Sunday. He was 78. The Los Angeles Police Department is investigating the deaths as an apparent homicide, officials said.

Reiner rose to fame on the 1970s sitcom All in the Family before becoming one of the most successful directors of his generation.
His films included This Is Spinal Tap, Stand By Me, The Princess Bride, When Harry Met Sally…, Misery, and A Few Good Men, the latter earning four Oscar nominations.

Born in New York City to entertainer Carl Reiner, he forged a career marked by versatility and commercial success.
In later years, Reiner remained politically outspoken and produced documentaries on American cultural and political issues.
