Florida lawmakers have approved legislation to rename Palm Beach International Airport after President Donald Trump, marking another symbolic move by Republican leaders to honor the sitting president.
The Florida Senate passed the bill 25–11 along party lines, following earlier approval in the state House.

The proposal now awaits the signature of Gov. Ron DeSantis and approval from the Federal Aviation Administration. If cleared, the name change would take effect in July.
Supporters argue the designation reflects Trump’s deep ties to the area, noting his permanent residence at Mar-a-Lago near the airport. Democrats criticized the move as political and said local residents were not adequately consulted.
Concerns were also raised over trademark filings linked to the Trump Organization, though company officials said no royalties or fees would be collected.
