President Macron says France will officially recognise a Palestinian state in September, making it the first G7 country to do so, much to the ire of Israel and the United States.
Palestinian officials embraced Macron’s decision, while Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio condemned it.
