Global markets fell Friday after President Donald Trump revealed new tariffs on U.S. trading partners. The Dow Jones dropped 600 points at the open. The S&P 500 and Nasdaq also declined, marking a fourth day of losses after a stretch of record gains.

Trump’s order outlined tariffs from 10% to 41% on countries ranging from Chile to Syria, effective August 7. European and Asian indexes also declined, with Germany’s DAX and France’s CAC 40 down more than 2%.

Treasury yields dipped as investors moved into bonds, and the U.S. dollar index dropped 1.1%.
