Republicans say they are confident the Senate will finalize President Donald Trump's sweeping legislative package, dubbed “one big, beautiful bill,” with zero help from Democrats.
Speaking to Newsmax, several GOP lawmakers, warming up for the annual congressional baseball game, said party unity is stronger than ever.
Sen. Eric Schmitt, R-Mo., said the House “did a lot of great work” and predicted the Senate would finish the job.

House Majority Leader Steve Scalise, R-La., said the bill reflects Trump’s core promises, including no new taxes on tips or overtime, increased domestic energy production, and funding for border security.
“Democrats didn’t want to be a part of it,” Scalise said. “We built the coalition, we got it done.”
Scalise added that Senate Republicans are expected to push the bill through before July 4. The bill also includes funding to expand Trump’s border wall and increase staffing
