A manhunt is underway in Switzerland after a shooting at a rave in Aarau left one woman dead and five others wounded, according to Aargau Cantonal Police.
The 22-year-old victim died at the scene. Four men and one woman, ages 24 to 27, were hospitalized with injuries ranging from minor to serious.
Police said all six victims were Swiss residents. Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni identified the deceased as Italian citizen Maria Spinelli and said two other Italians were among the wounded.
An eyewitness told Swiss outlet Blick that he initially mistook the gunfire for fireworks before realizing someone had been shot.
The report said Switzerland has high civilian gun ownership, although shootings remain relatively uncommon.
