President Donald Trump condemned Harvard University in a Truth Social post following the U.S. Department of Education’s decision to freeze $2.3 billion in federal funding to the school. The move comes amid a standoff over Harvard’s response to alleged civil rights violations, antisemitism, and its diversity, equity, and inclusion programs.

Calling Harvard a place that “teaches hate and stupidity,” Trump urged that it be permanently denied federal funding. Trump accused the Ivy League institution of becoming a hub for “radical Left” ideology, citing the hiring of former mayors Bill de Blasio and Lori Lightfoot as examples of poor leadership. He also referenced plagiarism allegations involving Harvard’s former president, calling the university a “joke” that no longer belongs on any list of top global institutions.
