The United States and Mexico carried out a joint Pacific Ocean operation that seized several tons of cocaine from a vessel near Clarion Island, according to the Mexican navy. Authorities recovered about 188 packages of narcotics and made multiple arrests, though officials did not release exact figures.

The coordinated bust comes as President Donald Trump increases pressure on Mexico to crack down on drug cartels, including threats of tariffs and expanded security measures.

Mexico has recently extradited nearly 100 cartel suspects to the United States, signaling stronger enforcement cooperation despite political tensions.

U.S. officials also raised concerns about cartel drone activity near the Texas border, which reportedly disrupted operations at an El Paso airport, though Mexico said it had no confirmed reports.

The latest seizure follows earlier Mexican navy interceptions of multiton cocaine shipments in the Pacific, highlighting ongoing maritime trafficking routes.

Supporters say joint operations show growing cross border resolve against cartels and help protect American communities from narcotics flows.
