Anthropic's rapid revenue growth is highlighting the extraordinary pace of the artificial intelligence industry, with the company now generating more annual revenue than several iconic global restaurant brands, according to Axios.

The report said Anthropic and OpenAI are together on track to generate about $120 billion in annualized revenue, based on data cited from AI investment research platform Funda. Anthropic accounts for roughly 60% of that total, reflecting its strong position in the enterprise AI market.

According to the report, Anthropic's estimated annual revenue of about $71 billion exceeds the combined revenue of Starbucks and McDonald's and nearly matches the total generated by those two companies plus Yum Brands, the parent company of Taco Bell and KFC.

The report said both Anthropic and OpenAI would rank among the Fortune 100 companies by revenue if current growth continues. The figures underscore how quickly AI businesses are expanding despite being only a few years old compared with decades-old global consumer brands.
