Amazon has signed a multibillion-dollar agreement with Corning to supply optical fiber and networking technology for its rapidly expanding U.S. data center network, underscoring the growing demand for infrastructure powering artificial intelligence.
The agreement will also expand Corning’s training programs for fiber-optic technicians.
The report said optical fiber has become a critical component of AI infrastructure because it enables high-speed communication between data centers, servers and advanced chips.
The deal comes as technology giants race to build AI capacity across the United States.
Corning said the partnership strengthens American manufacturing and supports efforts to build a more resilient domestic AI supply chain.
The company has also secured major AI-related commitments from Nvidia and Meta as demand for optical networking technology accelerates.
