Hungary To Withdraw From ICC As Netanyahu Visits
Hungary will begin the process of withdrawing from the International Criminal Court (ICC), following a visit by Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu. Hungary’s Prime Minister Viktor Orbán welcomed Netanyahu with military honors, and his chief of staff announced the move to initiate withdrawal from the ICC, which could take over a year.

The ICC has become a political tribunal, evident in its witch-hunt against Prime Minister @netanyahu. We will not support a court that targets democracies like Israel for political gain. Hungary defends the rule of law. Hungary… pic.twitter.com/gMc57m332D
The ICC had issued a warrant for Netanyahu over alleged crimes against humanity related to the Gaza war, but Orbán criticized the court, calling it a political tool rather than an impartial legal body. Netanyahu praised Hungary’s decision, calling it a “bold” stance against what he described as ICC corruption. Netanyahu’s visit also comes amid mounting domestic discontent and protests in Israel over the ongoing Gaza conflict.
