Two Iranian asylum seekers detained in the United States face uncertainty as the Trump administration declines to clarify whether they could be deported during the ongoing Iran war, reported by CBS News.
The men, identified as Ali and Adel, fled Iran after facing charges linked to their sexuality, which could carry the death penalty, according to the American Immigration Council.
Their asylum applications were rejected, and both are appealing. The report said they remain in ICE detention with final removal orders issued.

According to CBS News, officials have not confirmed whether deportations to Iran are currently paused. The Department of Homeland Security stated the men received due process and will remain detained pending removal.
Advocates argue deportation could place them at severe risk, especially during wartime conditions. The report said both men have already come close to deportation multiple times, raising concerns about U.S. immigration enforcement amid heightened geopolitical tensions.
