A Middle East analyst warned that Iran is unlikely to surrender in the ongoing war and could become more determined to develop nuclear weapons, reported by CBS News.
Danny Citrinowicz, a fellow at the Atlantic Council and former Israeli military intelligence officer, said the chances of regime collapse in Tehran are extremely low. According to the report, he argued that airstrikes alone are unlikely to overthrow Iran’s leadership.

Citrinowicz said Iran’s government will not capitulate even under intense military pressure. He warned the new supreme leader, Mojtaba Khamenei, could decide to pursue nuclear weapons as a deterrent against future attacks.
The analyst also questioned the strategy behind the U.S. and Israeli air campaign, saying it may have been based on the assumption that the regime would collapse after the killing of former leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei.
Meanwhile, Iran has expanded missile and drone strikes against Gulf states. The report said Tehran may be trying to pressure regional governments to push President Donald Trump to end the war.
