Iran has rejected a proposed ceasefire in its conflict with the United States and Israel, insisting instead on a permanent end to the war, reported by Iranian state media.
According to IRNA, Tehran conveyed its position through a formal response but did not disclose full details of the proposal.
The report said Iranian officials are seeking guarantees that future attacks will not resume, signaling distrust of temporary truce arrangements. A senior Iranian diplomat told The Associated Press that a ceasefire alone is insufficient without assurances of lasting peace.

This stance comes as President Donald Trump’s deadline approaches for Iran to reopen the Strait of Hormuz. Trump has warned of strikes on key infrastructure, including power plants and bridges, if Tehran does not comply.
According to the report, discussions continue over managing the strategic waterway, with Iranian and Omani officials exploring possible arrangements. The rejection raises the risk of further escalation as both sides remain far apart on terms.
