Iran Security Chief Killed In Airstrike, Says Israel

Israel said airstrikes killed Iran’s security chief Ali Larijani and Basij commander Gholamreza Soleimani, according to Reuters, citing Defense Minister Israel Katz. Iran has not confirmed the deaths.

The report said Larijani was a key ally of late supreme leader Ali Khamenei. The strikes come amid escalating conflict, with Iran previously retaliating through attacks on Gulf states and disruptions in the Strait of Hormuz.
