Iran has issued what appears to be an indirect threat targeting key power infrastructure across the Middle East, according to reports by the semiofficial Fars news agency, which is closely aligned with the country’s Revolutionary Guard. The report listed several facilities, including desalination plants and energy sites across Gulf nations.

Among the sites named was the United Arab Emirates’ Barakah nuclear power plant, located in the western desert near the Saudi border. The judiciary-linked Mizan news agency also published the same list, reinforcing concerns about Tehran’s messaging.

According to the reports, the move raises alarm over the vulnerability of critical infrastructure that supports both electricity and drinking water in the region. Many Gulf countries rely heavily on desalination plants integrated with power systems.

The development comes as U.S. President Donald Trump’s 48-hour deadline approaches, intensifying tensions. The ongoing conflict has already disrupted global energy markets, with fuel prices rising sharply.
