Iran’s leadership vowed it would not back down as nationwide protests intensified and internet blackouts continued, amid growing pressure from demonstrators and warnings from President Donald Trump.
Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei accused protesters of acting to please the U.S. president and blamed Washington for fueling unrest.
Demonstrations have spread across Iran for nearly two weeks, with crowds chanting against the regime after calls from exiled crown prince Reza Pahlavi. Rights groups say more than 40 people have been killed and over 2,000 detained.

Authorities imposed a near-total communications blackout, limiting independent verification of events. Iranian state media blamed foreign-backed agitators, while activists reported clashes with security forces.
President Trump warned Tehran against using lethal force, saying the U.S. would respond strongly if civilians were harmed. Vice President JD Vance said Washington supports peaceful protesters but urged Iran to pursue negotiations.
The unrest began over economic grievances and has evolved into a broader challenge to the regime.
