Iran Warns Conflict With U.S. Could Last Until Economic Pressure Mounts

A senior Iranian official says Tehran is prepared for a prolonged war with the United States and believes mounting global economic pressure could eventually force Washington to end the conflict, according to CNN.

Kamal Kharazi, a foreign policy adviser to Iran’s supreme leader, said diplomacy is unlikely for now. He accused President Donald Trump of breaking past commitments during negotiations and said Iran sees little room for talks while military strikes continue.

Kharazi suggested Iran will continue targeting U.S. interests across the Middle East and warned that regional countries could face additional pressure if they do not push Washington to scale back the conflict.

The war has already disrupted global energy markets. Shipping through the Strait of Hormuz has sharply declined, pushing oil prices above $100 per barrel and rattling financial markets worldwide.

Iran recently elevated Mojtaba Khamenei as the country’s new supreme leader. Analysts say the move signals a continuation of Tehran’s hardline policies during the conflict.
