Given that the academic consensus on genocide recognizes only a handful of cases, it would be quite shocking for Israel – a country born from the ashes of the Holocaust – to be found guilty of the "crime of all crimes." Yet by massaging the meaning of the term, that is precisely what its critics are seeking to do.
