The Israeli military launched airstrikes Thursday against Hezbollah targets across southern Lebanon, saying the group was attempting to rebuild its military operations.
The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) issued evacuation warnings to residents in several villages before the strikes, urging them to move at least 500 meters away from Hezbollah sites.

The strikes come amid rising tensions nearly a year after a U.S.-brokered ceasefire ended a year-long cross-border conflict that began following the October 7, 2023 Hamas attack.
Israel accuses Hezbollah of violating the truce by rearming, while the militant group blames Israel for repeated violations and “aggressive blackmail.”

Israeli officials, including Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and Foreign Minister Gideon Sa’ar, have warned that Hezbollah’s actions could force broader military action.
Meanwhile, Lebanese President Joseph Aoun hinted that direct negotiations with Israel might be unavoidable despite Hezbollah’s opposition.
