Israel said on Monday that it has shared its concerns with the United States over the next phase of President Donald Trump's Gaza peace initiative, including the proposed disarmament of Hamas, reported by CBS News.
The disagreement marks another sign of friction between Trump and Netanyahu, despite the two leaders meeting last week. Trump has promoted the proposal as a pathway toward ending the conflict and disarming Hamas.
The report said Hamas announced on Friday that it was prepared to surrender its weapons under the Trump administration's plan, but only to a newly formed Palestinian governing committee.
Israeli officials also claimed intelligence indicates Hamas has continued recruiting fighters and rebuilding its military capabilities since the ceasefire announced by President Trump in October.
