Vice President J.D. Vance issued a stark warning Monday about the ongoing Russia-Ukraine war, calling for urgent peace negotiations. He also cautioned against false hopes of a long-term Ukrainian victory. “If this doesn’t stop, the Ukrainians aren’t winning the war,” Vance said, in a podcast interview with political commentator Charlie Kirk. He criticized, what he described as a “weird idea” in the mainstream media, that Russia is on the verge of collapse.

“If this thing goes on for another few years, we could have societies collapsing... and it could risk escalating to a nuclear war,” he said. Vance pointed to dire demographic trends in both Russia and Ukraine and warned that prolonging the conflict could cost millions more lives. “It has to stop,” Vance declared.
