Karine Jean-Pierre Turns Independent, Leaves Democratic Party

Former White House press secretary Karine Jean-Pierre

Former White House press secretary Karine Jean-Pierre is calling on Americans to reject rigid partisanship and “embrace life as independents,” according to her upcoming book.

The book, Independent: A Look Inside a Broken White House, Outside the Party Lines, is set for release in October by Legacy Lit.

Jean-Pierre, who served under both Presidents Obama and Biden, criticizes the Democratic Party’s internal divisions and its handling of Biden’s 2024 withdrawal from the presidential race.

The book offers a first-hand account of the weeks leading up to Biden’s decision, which she describes as a betrayal by party leaders.

Promoted as a “groundbreaking” critique of the two-party system, the book urges readers to “vote their values” and challenges political boxes. In a video posted Wednesday, Jean-Pierre said the goal is to “protect democracy” and stand together regardless of political affiliation.

Jean-Pierre previously made headlines for denouncing Democratic pressure on Biden to step aside.
