Late-night host Jimmy Kimmel returned to his ABC show after a weeklong suspension over controversial remarks about the killing of conservative activist Charlie Kirk.
Kimmel told his audience it was never his intent to trivialize the murder or blame a political group, calling the killer a “sick person” who represents no one.

Kimmel also criticized FCC Chair Brendan Carr for pressuring broadcasters to act against him, calling it a First Amendment violation. He took aim at President Donald Trump, who labeled him a “wack job” with “no talent.” Kimmel quipped that Trump’s attempt to cancel him only boosted his ratings.
Trump later blasted ABC and threatened legal action, accusing the network of providing Democrats with illegal campaign support.

Kimmel acknowledged disagreements with Disney executives over his suspension but said he was ultimately reinstated. He accused Trump of celebrating Americans losing jobs for political reasons.
