The Kremlin described a three-hour meeting between President Vladimir Putin and U.S. special envoy Steve Witkoff as "constructive and useful," ahead of a possible new round of sanctions from the Trump administration.

President Trump, frustrated by Moscow's intensified attacks on Ukraine, has warned of fresh sanctions if no progress is made. The White House awaits Witkoff's briefing before deciding next steps. In the meantime, Russia escalated its assault, targeting cities and critical infrastructure.

Ukraine reported six deaths in overnight strikes, including two at a recreation center in Zaporizhzhia. A gas facility supplying U.S. and Azerbaijani energy was hit in Odesa, impacting hundreds of families. President Zelensky condemned the attacks as senseless cruelty.

Meanwhile, the U.S. State Department approved a $200 million weapons support package, and NATO members pledged over $1 billion to aid Kyiv through joint arms purchases, signaling continued Western backing.
